I love experimenting, maybe subconsciously I am trying to become Albert Einstein, invent something and change the world I guess? Remember I wrote an article on guava leaves herbal tea and this is a continuation of what happened next. After eating a few guava fruits that day I remained with a handful that I didn’t know what to do with, then I decided to make a smoothie. What I could pair guavas with was the million dollar question? In my fridge, I had frozen mixed berries, double cream plain yogurt and some fresh banana.
The thought of using dairy in this smoothie still puzzled me. Guavas and milk? It can’t be a great combination so I did some research instead. So it turns out that certain fruits including guavas can slow down the digestion process therefore causing fermentation of fruit within the stomach which can lead to some bloating and indigestion. Unfortunately, I can’t get into the details of this topic. Remember, my responsibility to you is reviewing these findings and solutions so that you guys know what works and what doesn’t right? I know, you love me already 😉
Moving right along, I settled for a dairy-free smoothie which I made this way;
Ingredients:
3 ripe guavas without the skin cut into small pieces (depends on your blender really)
1 x banana
A handful of frozen/fresh berries of your choice (I used mixed berries)
Half a cup of water
Honey (optional)
Process:
Put all your ingredients in a blender and blend!
If you feel your smoothie is still thicker, just add water.
Review:
Honestly, this smoothie was a meh for me. It wasn’t bad and it wasn’t good. My mind was not blown away and neither was I disappointed lol. I don’t think I will try this recipe again, or maybe, if I do get better ingredients or recommendations, perhaps I’d give it a go.
On the contrary, it made me full the entire day.
P/S: Make sure that those seeds are properly blended, avoid a guava situation!!! The tea can help you with constipation but the seeds definitely will give you one. Ha Ha Ha.
As always, please let me know if you have tried this recipe and how you felt about it. Also, I’d love some recommendations on what works with guava fruits.
Try nature, it’s much safer!

Sounds interesting, will try it thanks! I love guavas
